If you want to put something fun and save your lips from winter weather, try Sugar Lip Treatment by Fresh ($22.50 http://www.fresh.com). I got two samples and I am obsessed! My lips were cracked and in one day they were healed! I have the original formula and the Rose tint formula. They are basically jumbo sized chap sticks that are formulated to heal your lips and leave them with all their moisture. Sugar is natural way to prevent moisture loss…who knew??? They are also packed with SPF and leave your lips soft and supple for 6 hours! I love using the original formula under my lipsticks and the Rose Tint formula for when I use a gloss or don’t want to use any other color on my lips at all. I really recommend these for winter, they are a lip saver!
Get Deep Clean
16 SepAfter using Neutrogena Deep Clean Cleanser ($6 www.neutrogena.com) for a month in Africa and having ZERO breakouts, I now swear by it! I have used a million and one cleansers and this one does the trick! I use the cream cleanser when I am not using my Clarisonic and I use the foaming cleanser when I do. I love to use a cleanser that gives my skin that tingly clean feeling when it is rinsed off and this does just this that! It doesn’t irritate or dry out my sensitive skin but it does remove all my makeup and oil on my face. When I was traveling in Africa it is very dusty and this removed all the dirt off my skin and I did not break out at all! I am excited to try other products in the Deep Clean line and the best part is, you can find them at the drugstore!!
Moisture For Your Eyes
23 MayI have really sensitive eyes and have used tons of different eye creams but a lot of them burn my eye area. I have been using Kiehl’s Creamy Eye Treatment with Avocado ($28 www.kiehls.com) for a while now and it is heavenly. It is a simple moisturizing eye treatment with avocado oil. It is formulated not to migrate into your eyes and it is sensitive enough for all skin types. Ever since using this my eye area has become brighter and my dark circles have reduced. One way to prevent fine lines and wrinkles is moisture and you can really feel like you are getting that when you put this on. It is a funny green color but it goes on clear. Just use a tiny amount and dab it on lightly with your ring finger morning and night. It is so funny because avocado’s are one of my favorite foods and now they are a part of my favorite skin care! If you need to start using an eye cream this is a good one to try or if you need more moisture for your eye area this is perfect!
Neck Tissue Repair
19 MayOne of the things I worry about with the whole anti-aging process is having a neck that looks like a turkey! Have you every noticed those women that have great skin on their faces and their necks look 100 years older? I really want to avoid that in my old age…So, in try to avoid gravity and neck wrinkles, I have been using Kate Somerville Neck Tissue Repair Cream With Peptide K8 ($150 www.katesomerville.com). The science behind Peptide K8 is that it is supposed to reduce the volume, density, and depth of fine lines and wrinkles. I have seen this in a lot of products lately. The other benefits of K8 is that it helps with texture and elasticity of the skin. Other ingredients help firm and tone as well as make the skin soft and smooth. One benefit is that the jojoba and macadamia nut help keep the skin moisturized and prevent water loss. When putting this on you only want to move this in an upward motion. I even put this on my bust line because I figure I need all the help I can get! You need one pump and move it in an upward motion toward your face to help activate the ingredients. The smell is divine and subtle so you won’t be smelling it all day long. If you are worried about looking saggy and wrinkly from the neck down, try this cream you won’t be disappointed!
Moisturizer With Sunscreen
1 May
May is national skin cancer awareness month so it is totally appropriate that I tell you about my new favorite moisturizer! I had been looking for a moisturizer for the day time with a high SPF count (due to my very fair skin) that didn’t have that sunscreen smell, when I found Neutrogena Healthy Defense Moisturizer with SPF 50 ($12 www.neutrogena.com). The Healthy Defense line does have varying degrees of SPF from 15-50, but I need the highest possible. I also chose the Sensitive Skin formula because sometimes sunscreen causes my face to breakout. I started using this last week and you just need a small amount. Don’t get scared because when you first put it on you may get that “white face” look that sunscreen can cause, but keep rubbing gently in the skin and it will absorb. The best part is that it leaves a matte texture so you can apply your makeup right over it! I wore it for over 8 hours and my makeup did not get oily and I did not break out! I was so happy that I found a fragrance free SPF moisturizer that actually works well as a beauty product! The sunscreen in this product is 100% natural which makes it gentle and not heavy on your skin. Everyone needs to use an SPF on their face because it helps with anti-aging. The UVA/UVB rays are damaging to all skin types. Please give this a try and add to your routine to help fight the suns harmful rays!

Soy Face Cleanser
16 MarI was interested in trying some skin care products with soy in them when I found the brand Fresh. It is a great beauty line that is based around using natural ingredients for all of their products. I have been using the Soy Face Cleanser ($15-$38 www.fresh.com) for the past couple months and can’t say enough great things about it! The best thing is that it is gentle on the skin and removes all of your makeup, including eye makeup without leaving them burning after. It does not have a strong scent and it is a gel so it goes on smooth. I have recently started using it more since the weather has been making my skin dry and this has really helped save it. It has nourishing amino acids and soy protein with calming and hydrating botanicals. You don’t feel like you are putting anything strong on your skin or that you are stripping it of any of its natural nutrients. I also like to use it with my Clarisonic, it is gentle and creates a nice lather. This is a great product for anyone with sensitive skin or if you are looking for a gentle cleanser. I also recommend this for anyone that is “green”, it is a natural product so it is great to add to your environmental friendly lifestyle.
Hand Cream For Winter Weather
29 Feb
I am always buying and trying out new hand creams. I think I get bored and just want to try something new with a different scent and a new bottle or package…I think we all get that way with beauty products. However, I have been using a hand cream this winter that has saved my hands from getting all dried out from the winter weather. I have never found a hand cream that I loved as much as Nivea Smooth Indulgence Hand Cream ($5 www.drugstore.com). This hand cream contains macadamia nut oil and vitamins which help add moisture and soften dry hands. The smell is very “clean” and fresh. The best part is that it absorbs quickly and doesn’t leave a greasy residue on your skin so you can use your cell phone, key board or do other things right after applying it. I keep a bottle of this on my desk and use it after I wash my hands to keep them really soft. I have turned other people in my office on to it because of the smell and because of the great price! If you are looking for something to save your hands this winter, give this a try!
Polish Your Skin With Diamonds!
29 JanOK, so who would have thought that you could polish your skin with diamonds? Well, diamond powder to be exact…The La Mer Refining Facial ($75 www.cremedelamer.com) is an at home facial that you do once a week that will exfoliate your skin but also increases your skins radiance. It is one of the easiest facials to use, you simply amply it to a damp face and apply to the face and neck in circular motions and then simply rinse. You don’t have to leave it on for any length of time and once you are done your face is sooo smooth! What I like about this face polish is that the exfoliation “beads’ are very tiny so it doesn’t feel like you are scrubbing your face. It is very gently and you will see results instantly. There is two carats of diamond dust in one bottle that works together with sea quartz and other minerals to help polish and exfoliate the skin. I recommend this for anyone with sensitive skin because it is so gentle and you only have to use it once a week. I think it is the perfect “at home’ facial that actually produces results. Plus, who doesn’t want to wash their face with diamonds?
